A Workshop by Galit Palzur (Expert on Risk Management of Disasters, Climate Change and Extreme Events and Green Finance)
About this Workshop
The field of climate risk management is gaining relevance and importance as more and more natural disasters are occurring around the world and as different types of entities are required to transition into a low-carbon economy. As climate risk assessments are based on data and analytics and have become a necessity, it is only fitting that AI will have more presence in this field. We are witnessing today the rise of many AI-based service companies which address climate risks, however, there is a gap between the state of the market in developed countries and between what is happening in developing countries, where the impacts of climate change are devastating. These countries face difficulties with climate risk management, and AI can be a game-changer for them.
The workshop with Galit Palzur is aimed to discuss how climate risk assessments are conducted today, what are the bottlenecks which exist in different regions of the world in the field and how AI can facilitate the advancement of climate risk assessments in the future.
