About this Workshop
Managing risk is a ubiquitous task that requires more than the right processes and tools. It is an evolving undertaking that requires risk managers to constantly evaluate their objectives, strategies and ultimately the decisions that comprise the course they set for their organizations. Decision Quality is a discipline that prescribes answers to risk managers tasked with juggling the myriad of options and pitfalls in the face of uncertainty. This unique approach can help risk managers holistically evaluate the decisions comprising their risk matrices instead of being bogged down by the minutia of traditional risk management practices and exercises.
In this talk, Society of Decision Professionals (SDP) President, Jeremy Walker, will preview the 6 elements of Decision Quality as well as some special use cases that will provide a new perspective for tackling risk management projects. The 6 elements of Decision Quality and use cases will be organized into these 8 categories:
- Appropriate Frame & Scope
- Creative & Doable Alternatives
- Clear Values & Tradeoffs
- Meaningful & Reliable Information
- Logical Correct Reasoning (Analytics)
- Commitment to Action
