Decision Quality Consultant, Putt DQ Consulting Brian recently completed 4 years as a Director of Society of Decision Professionals and is a certified Fellow is SDP and sits on the Certification Council. He was award the SDP Pioneering Practice Award in 2023. He maintains an extensive YouTube Channel on Decision Analysis “Brian Putt”.

Brian recently retired from the Board of Directors for SDP, acting Chair of the SDP-San Francisco Bay Area chapter and sits on the SDP certification committee. He is a Fellow in the Society of Decision Professionals. He also donates time to the non-profit Probability Management that promotes the “Arithmetic of Uncertainty” and is the Technology and Applications Chair for Probability Management. He currently consults on Decision Quality using uncertainty analysis and maintains a YouTube Channel that includes many videos about applications of decision analysis using Excel and SIPmath.
Brian worked multiple decades with Chevron performing project economic analysis in the petroleum industry, mostly upstream. He facilitated the growth of Decision Analysis at Chevron that grew to 230 decision analysis worldwide when he retired. He was one of two authors of the Corporate Investment Manual that provided guidance on analysis and application for Appropriation Requests. He holds a BA in Economics from Claremont McKenna College, BS in General Engineering Stanford University, and a MS in Operations Research from Stanford University.
